Amy Hollingsworth gave up her beloved college classroom at the University of Mary Washington several years ago to write The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers, a tribute to her dear friend and mentor, Fred Rogers. She has yet to return to the classroom, where she taught psychology and business as an adjunct, in order to focus on writing full time. Her second book, Gifts of Passage: What the Dying Tell Us with the Gifts They Leave Behind, was published in 2008, and her third book, Holy Curiosity: Cultivating the Creative Spirit in Everyday Life, was released last week.
Amy has appeared on Living the Life, WGN’s Morning News, PBS’s A Word on Words, and At Home Live!, as well as a number of national radio programs. She has a master’s degree in counseling psychology and a bachelor’s degree in English. She lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with her husband Jeff and their children, Jonathan and Emily. She has written for various magazines, including ParentLife, and was a writer for eight years for a national television program.
